My VA needs a new job.

My VA needs a new job.

Here’s why:

I’m telling you this because I’m only now downgrading her from regular hours to ad hoc…because I created one of the simplest businesses on the planet.

And SAY WHAT?! it wasn’t built with AI.

Hell, I even toyed with the idea of titling a YouTube video “I didn’t use AI for 30 days, here’s what happened…” but then realized I don’t anyway, so the video would probably be boring.

But I digress.

Because I look back only three years ago, when I thought I was going to die from anxiety, stress, and burnout.

First, I had to get the mindset that I couldn’t say yes to everything. A VA is a taskmaster. They won’t make an insecure mindset feel truly secure. At best it’s relief.

I was on my way with that when I hired her two years ago, before my solo business even made money.

She saw all the evolutions of it…

  • No clue what I was doing
  • The offer to help agency owners scale while working less
  • The Autonomy Club community

I was testing and testing and testing what was for me, getting closer every month…she trusted me implicitly and was there for all the changes.

Months ago, having given her so little work because I have a 3C business (clients, content, coffee), I told her on our stand-up meeting, I know I don’t have a ton of work for you but I’m happy to pay you for your loyalty right now. Because it’s rare as hell.

And as the months went by, I had even less for her to do.

To the point where it just didn’t make financial sense to continue paying her weekly wages.

And that sucked, because she’s lovely. But her response wasn’t surprising at all…

There’s no game plan, or strategy, or blueprint to make a business so simple you don’t even need a VA.

Chances are, your day-to-day is going in the opposite direction. If so, get a VA; I happen to have an amazing recommendation. 😉

More than anything, I hope this simple story encourages you. Because I’m no smarter than you, there’s a good chance you’re making more per month than I am at the moment, and I have a long history of making decisions with future security in mind instead of present peace.

And even with all of that, it wasn’t impossible to rewire my mindset and re-situate my entire life in three years.

And isn’t that kinda the point of reading someone else’s emails?

That when they talk to you — really talk to you, not AI slop it and treat you like an 8-year-old — they can show you that you can completely change a trajectory you don’t like, wonder how you got stuck in, and are scared of what going further down the path looks like…and show the truth instead.

That it is possible, no matter the circumstances, with a ton of work — inner and outer — to alter that course completely.

Available to anyone willing.

Three years ago I would have thought it more likely I’d be heavily medicated or dead than write an email like this.

It’s never too late.

And if you need help, reply to this email.

P.S. Or if you or someone needs a VA. Reply to this email so we can get my girl more regular work.
